USS Midway

It was another gorgeous day in San Diego! We walked along the San Diego Bay, snapping pictures, as we waited for the USS Midway Museum to open for the day. Atop the massive aircraft carrier were fighter planes and helicopters that spanned several decades. As big as the carrier seemed, I knew that it must be but a speck in the ocean for a pilot preparing to land on her deck. We went aboard and began our journey through this incredible piece of history. Every aircraft had a story to tell. Caleb sat in cockpits and climbed aboard just about every helicopter he could. His favorite, of course, the fire rescue vehicle on deck of the carrier. We enjoyed lunch at the Fantail Cafe before picking up a toy fighter plane and souvenir penny at the gift shop.
